Thanks to the Tech Stirrups safety mechanism, the foot has to get the moving part open in case of fall, and this part then goes back to closed position automatically.
The grip was specifically studied for the jumping and the cross-country disciplines: it ensures the maximum wet and dry adhesion, and its 3° inclination helps keep heels down. The hollow of the foothold helps keeping the foot in the centre.
